Before an evaluation begins, the applicable scheme and version, the applicant, the subject and location covered, the evidence required and the intended outcome are identified.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the scheme, the subject may be an organisation, facility, service, process, product-related information or an individual\u2019s professional records. The methods used are selected for the subject being assessed and may include:<\/p>\n<p>* Document review: Examining relevant registration details, licences, procedures, records, qualifications or supporting product information.<br \/>\n* Assessment of implementation: Reviewing how documented arrangements are applied, where relevant, through interviews, observation, sampling or a site visit.<br \/>\n* Findings and follow-up: Recording the evidence examined, the findings and any actions required under the applicable scheme.<\/p>\n<p>An evaluation may result in an assessment report or, where the scheme provides for it and its requirements have been met, a decision to issue a certificate. The resulting document identifies what was assessed and the limits of the assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Where a published standard is used as a reference, the applicable requirements and any additional scheme-specific checks are identified in the assessment documentation.
